The BlackMagic application tests performance of drives using sequential streams of incompressible data. With read speeds, most of the drives tested show a similarly high level of performance. Write speeds are for the Max IOPS are a bit lower than that of the original Vertex 3.

The Max IOPS drive's strong 4K speeds help to make it's boot speed for OS X slightly faster than the competition.

With file copying in OS X, the Vertex 3 Max IOPS drive generally performed similarly to the other SandForce drives with synchronous NAND, with the exception of the Documents fileset. With smaller files, the Max IOPS drive handily beat the HyperX and Vertex 3 drives, coming in a little faster than the previous best ProV Max from RunCore.
